1. Who operates this site

The Champagne Edit is an independent editorial project about video editing. References to “The Champagne Edit,” “we,” or “us” in this policy mean the project responsible for publishing the website and handling requests submitted through it.

This policy describes the information practices of the The Champagne Edit website. Privacy questions can be sent through the Contact page.

2. Information that may be collected

The public articles can be read without creating an account. Information is received only when a visitor chooses to provide it through a form or when the browser stores the site’s short-lived guide-delivery state.

Depending on the form used, submitted information may include:

• first name or name;
• email address;
• message subject, selected topic, and message text;
• the date and technical status of a submission;
• information required by the form-delivery service to prevent abuse or deliver the request.

Please do not submit confidential footage, private client links, financial details, passwords, or other sensitive information.

3. Guide and contact forms

The guide form is used to process a request for the editing PDF. The contact form is used to receive questions, corrections, suggestions, and technical reports.

When a form is submitted, its information may be handled by the technical service used to transmit and deliver that request. A form is treated as received only after that service accepts the submission.

4. How information is used

Information submitted by a visitor is used only to:

• deliver the requested guide;
• answer a contact message;
• review guide feedback or a suggested topic;
• protect the forms from automated abuse;
• meet legal obligations that apply to the site operator.

Requesting the guide does not create a paid subscription. Any optional editorial email program is described at the point of signup and provides a way to unsubscribe.

5. Cookies and local storage

This website sets no analytics or marketing cookies, and there is no cookie notice or consent record to store. The only browser storage the site uses is the short-lived state needed to complete a guide request.

After an accepted guide request, the site may place a short-lived sessionStorage flag so the next page can show the correct confirmation and download link. The flag contains no name, email address, or form message, stays within the current browser tab, and is removed when the confirmation page reads it.

The Champagne Edit currently does not use optional analytics or marketing cookies. If that changes, optional technologies will remain off until the visitor gives consent where consent is required, and this policy will be updated.

Because no optional storage is used, there is no preference panel to open and nothing to switch off. Clearing your browser storage removes the guide-request flag if one is still present.

6. Third-party service providers

Hosting, form-delivery, and email services may process limited information needed to display the site, protect it from abuse, transmit a message, or provide the requested guide. Those services operate under their own privacy terms and any applicable service agreement.

The Champagne Edit does not sell information submitted through its forms or share it for unrelated advertising.

7. Data retention

Submitted information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed to provide the guide, respond to a message, maintain appropriate operational records, address abuse or security issues, or meet an applicable legal requirement.

The short-lived guide-request flag stays in your browser only until the confirmation page reads it, the tab is closed, or you clear browser storage.

Depending on where you live, you may be able to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction on the use of personal information. You may also be able to withdraw consent or object to certain processing.

Requests can be made through the contact route below. Enough information may be requested to verify and respond to a privacy request, but visitors should not send passwords, financial details, or unrelated sensitive information.
